PUT-IN: Kowawese Unique Area in New Windsor has a long beach area and plenty of parking.  Follow Route 9W into New Windsor and turn east across from the restaurant named Anthony's Pier.  Follow signs to the parking area by the river.

ROUTES:

Kowawese offers access to Newburgh Bay including the Newburgh waterfront to the north.  Beacon is also further north on the east side of the river.  South brings you to the estuary at the mouth of Moodna Creek and then into the Hudson River Highlands.  Bannerman Island is directly across the bay from Kowawase to the east. 

One way to see all the sites in this area is to start here, cross to Bannerman Island, then head south to Little Stony Point, Cold Springs and Constitution Marsh.
